Stashy on iPad: sidebar, grid and drag and drop

Updated 13 October 2026. 2 minute read.

An iPad is where a lot of reading and collecting happens: on the sofa, at a desk with a keyboard, next to a notebook. Stashy on iPad is laid out for that screen. It is not the phone app made larger.

The layout

Tapping a category or a type in the sidebar filters the grid immediately. It is the quickest way to browse a library of any size.

Drag and drop

On iPad you can drop things straight onto Stashy.

  1. Open Stashy next to another app, side by side or in a second window.
  2. Touch and hold a link, an image or a file in the other app until it lifts.
  3. Drag it onto Stashy and let go.

It is saved as if you had used the Share Sheet. This is the fastest way to collect several things from one page: three images and two links from an article, one after another, without leaving it.

The Share Sheet still works

From any app, tap Share and choose Stashy. If it is not in the first row, move it to the front. The save is waiting in your library the next time you open Stashy.

The plus button

Everything you can add by hand is behind the plus button: a link, a note, a voice memo, a photo from the camera or the library, files, a scan, or whatever is on the clipboard.

The camera on an iPad makes a surprisingly good document scanner, because the large screen shows the page clearly while you line it up. See scanning paper to PDF.

Reading and research

The wide grid is good for a specific task: looking at many saves at once. Open a category, and the summaries under each card let you compare a dozen items without opening any of them. For a question that spans several, use Ask Your Library.

In step with your other devices

Your library syncs through your own iCloud. Things saved on your iPhone during the day are on the iPad in the evening, with their summaries and categories. There is no account to sign in to.

What you need

Stashy needs iPadOS 26 or later. Summaries, automatic categories and answers need an iPad that supports Apple Intelligence: models with an M1 chip or later, and iPad mini with A17 Pro. On other iPads, saving, organising, search and reminders all work. See which devices are supported.
