Terms of Use

The short version

1. The agreement

These terms are between you and the person who makes Stashy:

Hinrich Bomsdorf
Mainaustrasse 27
8008 Zürich
Switzerland
hinrichbomsdorf@gmail.com

They apply to the Stashy apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch and to this website. By downloading or using Stashy you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Stashy is licensed to you through the App Store under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or for supporting it.

2. The app

Stashy lets you save links, photos, files, notes and voice memos, organise them, and find them again. It is free to download and use. Some features, such as summaries and answers to questions, need a device that supports Apple Intelligence. Sync between your devices needs an iCloud account.

You may use Stashy on any Apple device you own or control, for personal or business purposes, as the App Store’s rules allow.

3. Your content

Everything you save in Stashy remains yours. It is stored on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud. I have no access to it and claim no rights in it. How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for what you save and share, including having the right to keep a copy of it. Because your library is stored only on your devices and in your iCloud, I cannot restore it for you. Stashy can export your whole library at any time, and it is sensible to do that now and then.

4. Sharing with others

If you share a category, the people you invite can see its items and can add and remove items. Share only what you are entitled to share, and only with people you trust with it. You can stop sharing at any time.

5. Summaries, answers and suggestions

Summaries, categories, keywords, cards, event suggestions and answers are generated automatically by a language model on your device. They can be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as a convenience and not as advice, and check the original before relying on anything important, such as a date, a price, a dose or an address.

Stashy only adds an event to your calendar after you approve it.

6. Websites and other people’s content

When you save a link, Stashy loads that page from your device so that you can read and find it later. The content of those pages belongs to their owners. Saved copies are for your own use. Respect the copyright and the terms of the sites you save from.

I do not control other websites and am not responsible for their content or availability. A site may change or block access at any time, and Stashy may then be unable to fetch a title, a picture or the text of a page.

7. Tips

Tips are voluntary, one-time purchases made through the App Store. They support the development of Stashy and do not unlock features or entitle you to anything in return. Payment, billing and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms. To ask for a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem page.

8. Fair use

Please do not use Stashy to break the law, to infringe someone else’s rights, or to store or share content that is unlawful. Do not try to interfere with the services Stashy relies on.

9. Changes to the app

I work on Stashy continually. Features may be added, changed or removed, and I may stop offering the app. If that happens, the library on your devices and the ability to export it are yours to keep for as long as the installed app runs.

10. No warranty

Stashy is provided as it is. I work hard to make it reliable, but I cannot promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or suited to a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, all warranties are excluded.

11. Liability

I am liable without limit for damage I cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and wherever the law does not permit liability to be limited. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for slight negligence, for indirect or consequential damage, for lost profit, or for the loss of data that an export or a backup would have preserved.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

12. Ownership

The Stashy name, icon and design belong to me. These terms do not give you rights in them beyond using the app as intended.

13. Ending

You can stop using Stashy at any time by deleting it. These terms end when you do. I may end your licence if you seriously breach these terms.

14. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict of law rules. The courts of Zürich, Switzerland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim before the courts there.

15. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be published here with a new date. If you keep using Stashy after that, the new version applies.
