Stashy on Mac: every keyboard shortcut
Updated 13 October 2026. 2 minute read.
On a Mac the fastest way to save something is without reaching for the mouse. Stashy for Mac has a shortcut for each kind of save, and they follow the conventions you already know from other Mac apps.
Saving
- Command N: new link. Paste an address and Stashy fetches the page.
- Shift Command N: new note. Markdown headings, lists and links work.
- Shift Command R: new voice memo. Stashy writes down what you say.
- Shift Command V: save from clipboard. Whatever you last copied, whether a link, text or an image, becomes a save.
- Command O: import files. Choose PDFs and other documents from anywhere on your Mac.
Finding
- Command F: search your library. Search looks through titles, summaries and hidden keywords.
- Shift Command L: Ask Your Library. Type a question and get an answer from your own saves, with the sources shown. This needs a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence.
The usual ones
The standard Mac shortcuts behave as you expect: Command Comma opens Settings, Command W closes the window, Command Q quits. In dialogs, Return confirms and Escape cancels.
Three quick routines
Save what you are reading. In your browser, press Command L to select the address and Command C to copy it. Switch to Stashy and press Shift Command V. Four keystrokes, no mouse.
Capture a thought. Shift Command N, type, done. The note files itself into a category and gets a summary.
Keep a quote. Select the text in any app, copy it, and press Shift Command V in Stashy. It is saved as a note.
Without the keyboard
- Drag and drop. Drop a link, an image or a file onto Stashy's window to save it.
- The menu bar. Stashy has a menu bar item, so you can reach it without bringing the window to the front.
- The plus button in the toolbar opens the same list of things you can add.
Why Mac is a good place to save
Much of what is worth keeping turns up at a desk: long articles, documents from work, research with twenty tabs. Saving it there, with one shortcut, means it is already on your iPhone when you want to read it on the train. Everything syncs through your own iCloud.
The reverse works too. A photo of a whiteboard taken on the phone is in the Mac library by the time you sit down.
More about the Mac app
Stashy for Mac is a native app with a sidebar for categories, types and collections, and a grid that uses the width of the window. It is not the iPhone app in a bigger frame. See a bookmark manager for Mac that lives outside the browser.
