How to set a reminder on something you saved

Updated 13 October 2026. 2 minute read.

"I will read it at the weekend" is a plan with no mechanism. The weekend comes, and nothing reminds you that there was something to read. A saved item with a reminder on it is a different thing: it comes back to you at a time you picked.

Setting a reminder in Stashy

  1. Open any save: a link, a note, a PDF, a voice memo.
  2. Tap the reminder button.
  3. Pick a time in one tap.

The choices are the ones people actually mean when they say later:

At that moment you get a notification. Tapping it opens the item.

The Reminders tab

Everything with a reminder on it is collected in the Reminders tab, grouped by when it is due. From there you can snooze something or tick it off with a swipe. It is a short list by design: the things you decided were worth coming back to, in the order they are due.

They stay on your device

Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on the device. Nothing about them is sent to a server. The first time you set one, iOS asks for permission to show notifications. Without it the reminder is still listed in the Reminders tab, but nothing can pop up.

What is worth a reminder

Not everything. If every save has a reminder, they turn into noise and you swipe them away unread. Good candidates have a date attached, even a loose one:

For things that are merely interesting, skip the reminder. They will still be in the library, and search will find them when the subject comes up.

Reminder or calendar event?

A reminder is a nudge to look at a save. A calendar event blocks out time. When a save mentions something that happens at a fixed time, such as a concert or a flight, Stashy can offer it as a calendar entry instead. See turning a saved page into a calendar event.

If you automate things

Stashy has actions in the Shortcuts app to set and cancel reminders, so you can build your own routine, such as a reminder for every link saved from a particular shortcut.
