Turn a saved page into a calendar event

Updated 13 October 2026. 2 minute read.

A lot of what people save has a date in it. The page for a concert. A PDF with an application deadline. A note saying when the plumber is coming. The usual next step is to open the calendar and type the same details in again, and it is the step that gets skipped.

What Stashy does

When a save mentions something upcoming, Stashy offers it as a calendar event. The suggestion appears with the item, already filled in with a title and a date. You look at it, change anything that is wrong, and add it. Or you ignore it.

The reading is done by Apple's on-device model. The content of your save is not sent anywhere to find the date.

Nothing is added without you

This is the important part. Stashy only ever suggests. An event reaches your calendar when you approve it, and not before.

It also cannot read your calendar. When you add your first event, iOS asks for permission, and what Stashy requests is the add-only kind of calendar access. It can put an event in. It cannot see what else is there.

Check the details

Dates on web pages are harder than they look. A page may list several dates, leave out the year, or give a time without a time zone. So read the suggestion before you accept it:

If in doubt, open the original and compare. A suggestion is a head start, not a fact.

When there is no suggestion

Event or reminder?

Use a calendar event for something that happens at a fixed time and takes up time: a concert, an appointment, a flight. Use a reminder for something you want to look at again: an article, an offer you are thinking about. Reminders in Stashy are one tap and stay on your device.

A small routine that works

When you save anything with a date in it, deal with the date straight away. Accept the suggestion or set a reminder, then close the app. The save is done only when the date has somewhere to live.
